Not only is the arrival scene the climax of the film—the dashing young man setting out to find the interloper who’s sending his partner love notes—but it also places one of the Shops’ most iconic visual elements at center stage. The porte-cochère is the arrival moment designed 60 years ago, that is still as impactful today.

Inside the Scene: The Diamonds
The diamonds in “An Affair to Remember,” courtesy of Graff, are significant for several reasons. It’s our Diamond Anniversary, of course, and what affair is complete without the exchange of some jewelry? But also, the brands at Bal Harbour Shops are a concentration of the world’s most celebrated houses, offering the most coveted jewels. Today, 20 fine jewelry and watch brands hold court at Bal Harbour Shops; a dazzling collection indeed, and the precious pieces tucked inside those glimmering cases represent milestones, birthdays, goals achieved, and dreams still to come.
Inside the Scene: The Love Notes
Our protagonist is seen clutching a note throughout the film. What’s the story behind this flirtatious exchange? Visiting Bal Harbour Shops is more than shopping, it’s a sensory experience. The Love Note is a symbol of that emotional connection, and is a tactile representation of the Life Delightful. That may be a spontaneous delivery of flowers, an invitation to sip Prosecco at one of the shops, or enjoy a scoop of gelato in the Center Courtyard just because it’s Wednesday. It’s the carefully curated coloring book for your little ones, the tiny boxes of koi and turtle food just in case you wanted to tend to our pond friends.
There’s no set agenda for Love Notes; it’s just a little token of our affection for you.
What should our next Love Note be?
If only he knew that all he had to do was share her with Bal Harbour Shops. Introducing, “An Affair to Remember,” a classic tale of mistaken identity, with a twist. Follow along as one stylish young woman (played by Karolina Kurkova) feeds her desire for the finer things, while her romantic partner (played by Arthur Kulkov) tries to keep up.
As she visits her favorite boutiques, day after day, each purchase is met with a love note—a signature gesture and personification of the Shops. Our protagonist is giddy; she’s dreaming up where she may take her sparkling new necklace and sultry new dress. Meanwhile, her partner is frantic; he races through the Shops ready to encounter what he fears the most… The two collide, and what’s revealed? The notes weren’t from a secret paramour, they were from Bal Harbour Shops.
It was love at first visit.
