Last fall, a new—yet familiar—name popped up at Neiman Marcus’s famed beauty department. “BHS has been and will always feel like home to the Gee Beauty family,” says Gee Beauty co-founder Natalie Gee. “We launched our brand in the US in 2011 at Bal Harbour Shops. We owe a lot of our success to the incredible people that make up this magical place.”

Natalie, along with her sisters Celene, and Stephanie, and mother Miriam, makeup the family-run business that’s grown from a single storefront in Toronto to a multi-location brand with an extensive online presence. We caught up with Natalie—whose Get Ready With Me videos are a must-watch—to get a few tips and tricks for the winter season and more.

What can we expect to find at Gee Beauty at Neiman Marcus?
Our edit at Neiman Marcus is exactly what someone needs for five-minute glowing skin. We wanted our offer to feel very inviting, and easy to apply, no matter what level you are at in applying makeup. We also feel that you can mix Gee Beauty with the other incredible brands Neiman Marcus offers, and it is really important to have products from us that feel multi-purpose and versatile in your bag.

Your top priority for winter skincare:
What I love most about a winter skincare regime is all the layering! In the cooler months, layering is the key to healing dehydration in the skin. One of my best tips is to layer a hydrating mask under your nighttime moisturizer at least three times per week. When we sleep, our skin has the time to rest and repair on a cellular level, so layering nourishing and soothing masks and moisturizes is so important.

Tell us about some of the new Gee products this season.
We recently launched our Gee Beauty Skin Prep collection, and it has been so well received. Having a clean, nourished base makes applying your makeup so easy and effortless. The collection is focused on pre-cleansing, hydration, exfoliation and priming. Gee Skin Prep products are unisex and clean, making the collection suitable for all skin types and textures.

A brand you’ve recently been turned on to and love?
I’m a big believer in powder-form collagen, and I was recently introduced to a new brand called The Absolute Collagen. I love adding it, along with The Tahini Goddess prebiotic fiber, to my coffee every morning. I call it my “supercharged” coffee!

Your online tutorials are great! Which are the most popular?
Thank you! I truly love making videos to showcase the ease and effortlessness of our makeup. My best-performing videos are always the ones where I am sharing more of my personality, which speaks to the closeness and openness I have with our community. People want to feel part of a brand, and being connected to our community is part of why we have been able to grow our business.

What tools should we always have in our kit?
Brushes for sure! Applying with great, easy-to-use brushes will blend your makeup so smoothly.
