Oscar de la Renta’s Spring/Summer 2020 Bridal Collection is marrying the conventional with the new. Creative Directors of the American-based fashion house, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia transport us to the edge of our wedding fantasies with romantic silhouettes, intricately embellished bodices, satin bows and Swan Princess-esque feathers.

Plenty of Oscar brides still want something quite traditional, but even the most “bride-y” dresses were intentionally designed to be extremely easy to wear, weighing even less than one pound. From ultra-modern mini dresses with 1920s flair and ivory jumpsuits with oversize trains to a Chantilly lace gown with 310 hours of 3-D embroidery work, craftmanship remains evident in every piece.

Among some of the famous ‘Oscar brides” are Amal Clooney, Allison Williams and Kate Bosworth who have walked down the aisle in the brand’s most opulent gowns. Of course, this season’s bridal collection comes complete with breathtakingly beautiful guipure lacework, dreamy floral appliqués, translucent layers of silk tulle and the iconic deep-V Oscar look.

The 7th annual Bal Harbour Shops Creative Challenge is officially underway. This year, we invite illustrators from around the world to explore The Art of Dreaming—reimagining Bal Harbour Shops as a place where fashion, dining, nature, art and culture collide, and the impossible feels beautifully possible.

In partnership with Fida Worldwide, one Grand Prize winner will receive $3,500, have their work published in the Winter 2026 issue of Bal Harbour Magazine, and be commissioned for an upcoming editorial illustration project. Three finalists will each receive $750 and be featured across our digital channels.
