Moncler year of the dog

Moncler’s 2018 Lunar New Year Campaign.

There couldn’t be a more fashion friendly Lunar New Year celebration. As the year of the Dog recently bow (wowed) on Friday, a number of designers have created capsule collections to celebrate the holiday. Moncler, a brand that already has an established four-legged clientele, has debuted a four-item capsule collection of outerwear and accessories to celebrate the Year of the Dog. The capsule collection plays up the color red, which is lucky in Chinese tradition.

At Versace, Donatella Versace’s own beloved pooch, Audrey, takes center stage as the star of its Lunar New Year collection. Key chains, leather goods and some very special t-shirts-including one for women that renders Audrey in crystals-are bound to find a special home with animal lovers worldwide.

Emporio Armani presents a more subtle Year of the Dog collection, with an emphasis on the color red more than four-legged friends. Though you will find a few charming nods to man’s best friend, such as small leather goods and a cozy sweatshirt, you can also simply celebrate the holiday with a pop of color.

Over at Louis Vuitton, canines are of the more animated variety and are found adorning silk scarves, hanging as pendants on necklaces and our favorite, Oscar doudou-a toy pup incorporating Louis Vuitton’s flower, VVN leather and Monogram signatures.

Gucci made a splash earlier this month, releasing a capsule collection starring Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s own beloved Boston terriers, Bosco and Orso. See our full story on the collection, here.
