As a female designer I have always been deeply inspired by Elsa Peretti’s vision and enduring legacy. So it was truly an honor to have the opportunity to visit her homes in Martí Vell, Spain in celebration of the 50th anniversary of her collaboration with Tiffany & Co. It was a moving experience for me, and an opportunity that I will always be grateful for. Here, I’ve captured some highlights in a photo diary exclusively for Bal Harbour Shops.

  1. Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti silver jewelry laying on a piece of tree bark
A mix of iconic Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. designs with some newly released pieces in celebration of their 50-year collaboration. The Split ring is one of my favorites.
  2. Box of glass hearts in various colors
Elsa loved mood boards for her ideas and made them from pictures and objects.
  3. Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti silver and diamond cuff siting on a piece of tree bark
This year in celebration of 50 Years of Elsa Peretti, Tiffany introduced three new designs, including this gold cuff with a teardrop of pavé diamonds.
  4. Elsa Peretti home with greenery
The gorgeous, lush landscape becomes one with Elsa’s home in the tiny Spanish village of Martí Vell.
  5. A case with silver and gold chains
A Man in Texas gave a snake head to Elsa, which she kept it for years as a good luck charm. She later made it into a necklace which became one of her most popular designs.
  6. Kitchen with table in the middle
Elsa considered the kitchen the most sacred space of her home and held most of her meetings there.
  7. Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti silver water vase sitting on a table
Homeware designed by Elsa was always beautiful, yet practical. The indent on the vase was created to make it easier to carry.
  8. Office filled with books and mood boards
Elsa’s home office, filled with mood boards and inspirations.
  9. Blue painted room with red chair in the corner
The color Blau de Monserrat can be found in many of the interiors. It symbolizes serenity, creativity and peace.
  10. Closet with clothes hanging inside
A peek into Elsa’s closet. You can see some of her famous belt buckles hanging on the door.
  11. Long table running down center of a cobblestone vineyard
At the end of the tour, we enjoyed lunch in Elsa’s vineyard, which was really beautiful—and delicious.
