For Pre-Fall 2025, Ferragamo’s Maximilian Davis has channeled–and reframed–the house’s starry cinematic legacy.
For one, Davis tapped the acclaimed filmmaker Alice Rohrwacher to direct a three-chapter short film around the season, which was shot at Rome’s legendary Cinecittà Studios (this is essentially the Italian’s capital’s version of the Universal Lot in L.A.).
The collaboration bridges Ferragamo’s historic ties to Hollywood–where the label’s namesake, Salvatore Ferragamo, built his reputation creating footwear for some of the most iconic silver screen figures of all time, including Joan Crawford, Judy Garland, and Marilyn Monroe–with Rohrwacher’s poetic realism and distinctly Italian cosmopolitanism. The result is a visualization of considered and sophisticated glamor, and the pieces featured within it uphold this sense of a captivating then-and-now. Think: golden-era Tinseltown charm and contemporary, romantic Italian sensibility.
