Gone are the sharp edges, minimalist suits and tough exteriors. This fall has seen a return to the softer side, one marked by layers of lace, tulle and silk. Designers known for more feminine fashion (we’re looking at you, Zimmermann) are joined by so many others embracing a sweeter style this fall. Here, we’ve gathered up a dozen ways to embrace the season’s nod to romance.

For a decade, Anthony Vaccarello has wowed us at Saint Laurent with his signature style of sexy-meets-edgy-meets-tailored chic. The Belgian-born designer, of Italian descent, began his career under Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi in 2006 before moving on to Versus Versace and ultimately taking the creative reins at Saint Laurent in 2016.
