East Meets West

The Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-up in Sarasota, Florida, will be open through the end of April, 2024.

The Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-up tour is having a homecoming of sorts, having made its way to Sarasota, on the west coast of Florida. This is the second destination for the roving luxury retail experience, which debuted in November 2023 in Raleigh, North Carolina, and this time boasts luxury brands Tiffany & Co., Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Golden Goose, Etro, Gianvito Rossi, Santa Maria Novella, Assouline, Orlebar Brown, and Christofle among its tenants.

And, what would the Access Pop-up be without its beloved restaurant? The Whitman returns with its menu of Latin-inspired flavors and comforting classics set in the palm-framed central courtyard, retaining the idyllic charm and iconic al fresco environment of Bal Harbour Shops.

Spanning 17,000 square feet, this nomadic luxury retail activation was designed by the award-winning architecture firm LOT-EK to bring the soul of Bal Harbour Shops to new destinations around the country. Thus, bringing the signature experience of Bal Harbour to a larger audience, allowing discerning shoppers to indulge in a unique blend of luxury, fashion, and dining.

“With this roving Pop-up, we introduce a new and innovative solution at the crossroads of high-touch personal service and high-tech logistics,” says Matthew Whitman Lazenby, President and Chief Executive Officer of Whitman Family Development. “We’re delivering on our mission to impress our guests with our distinctive level of excellence.”

Constructed from 30 custom-built shipping containers, the branded pop-up features covered walkways with fans, a retractable canopy, and references Bal Harbour Shops’ palm tree motif and garden-like bright green monstera leaf signature design. Koi ponds, fountains, and planters filled with lush greenery bring the entire tropical, Zen-like atmosphere of Bal Harbour Shops to life.
