In Conversation With Gene Pressman and Elysze Held
On Wednesday, November 19th, Gene Pressman, Co-CEO and Creative Director of Barneys New York, and Miami’s very own fashion icon Elysze Held took center stage at the iconic Bal Harbour Shops, where they discussed his memoir, They All Came to Barneys: A Personal History of the World’s Greatest Store. Together, they spoke about the rise and fall of Barneys New York, from its origins as a modest Seventh Avenue shop to its transformation into a global symbol of style and influence. Through Pressman’s insider perspective, They All Came to Barneys captures the evolution of fashion, culture, and retail innovation across decades, offering a front-row view into the world of designers, tastemakers, and the era-defining glamour of New York’s fashion scene. Over a hundred guests enjoyed the conversation, and all received signed copies of the book.
