It’s a Man’s World with These Top 3 Trends
From updated suit-silhouettes to action-packed graphics, the Spring 2019 runways were filled with statement-making designs made for the man of style. Here, we choose our top 3 must-have trending looks of the spring season: a dashing update to double-breasted suits, pattern-packed short-sleeve tops and sweaters elevated with a more than healthy dose of graphics.
Tailoring is back—and back in a big way. Originally called a ‘reefer’ jacket born in the sporting world in the late 19th century, the double-breasted jacket is making waves with boldly updated silhouettes. From a striking white Balmain suit and an oversized Versace look, to Ermenegildo Zegna’s more casual flare—double-breasted suits are making quite the comeback.
Talk about a trend that’s cool and comfortable—long live the short-sleeve shirt! Designers amped up their runways with an artistic approach to the not-so-typical short-sleeve top. Salvatore Ferragamo, Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana incorporated a mixture of texture from silks to cashmere, patterns ranging from all-natural to geometrically inspired shapes and a colorful mixture of our primary favorites.
Vivid graphic prints injected some welcomed vibrancy into the menswear mix. If you’re a fan of showcasing something a little extra on your sweater, then this season is full of statement sweaters that will be sure to excite your 2019 wardrobe. Moncler and Valentino spread their logo love while Prada gives us a taste of their cartoon world with an illustrated interpretation on the sweater movement.
