The First Flying Tourbillon by Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet

Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon timepiece for women.

Audemars Piguet, founded in Vallee de Joux, Switzerland by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet in 1875, remains a family-owned business that has spent more than 130 years mastering the construction of their watches and compilations. The company continues to revolutionize the watch-making world with the release of the first-ever Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Ladies’ Flying Tourbillon.

Piguet Royal Oak

Born in 2002, the Royal Oak Concept collection was exclusively designed for men until now. Launching their first-ever ladies’ Concept watch shows the company’s dedication to innovation and to creating technologically interesting watches for women. Totaling more than 460 diamonds, the Ladies’ Concept watch features a 38.5mm white gold case set with one of two types of diamonds – baguette or brilliant-cut – along the shaped lugs and bezel. The dial plate is cut away at sharp angles, like broken ice, to reveal angled bridges and an openworked barrel. Take an up-close look by viewing the video below.

Piguet

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Ladies’ Flying Tourbillon is not only the first ladies’ piece in the Concept collection, but also the brand’s first flying tourbillon, in any collection. Like the men’s Royal Oak, the watch is all angles – the eight-sided bezel with six-sided screws is signature to the collection. The introduction of this first-ever timepiece further exemplifies the company’s mantra, “To break the rules, you must first master them.”

“Drawing from the elegance and symbolism of Japanese aesthetics, this floral couture gown expresses spring as a season of renewal, precision, and living beauty. A dramatic, obi-inspired pink waistband represents harmony and strength.” —Lorrie Sanon, Indigo Hues Designs, presented by Makoto.

“Our mannequin captures the spirit of spring through a fresh, fashion-forward botanical vision. Designed in a palette of crisp whites and soft blues, the gown is composed of layered spring blooms that create movement, lightness and texture, evoking blossoms unfolding in a European cafe garden.” —Nadja Rain Soimaud, Flowers by Rain, presented by Avenue 31 Cafe.
This is how we like to get toasty.
