“There are a couple of things I love — denim, a tuxedo for women, some things that are interesting to reinvent but the white shirt is one of the most interesting. It’s like a white toile,” said Creative Director of Valentino Pierpaolo Piccioli during a recent interview. He goes onto say, “I wanted to work on something universal, to get back to the essence of shape and volume. So I worked on the idea of the white shirt, but treating it with a couture sensibility.”

“The white shirt is the most democratic and most universal, but it can also be the most individual” garment, according to Pierpaolo Piccioli. Working with just one color that would inspire the entire capsule collection allowed the brand to showcase its namesake artistry of Italian craftmanship, in which incredibly complex techniques are applied to each of the Le Blanc pieces.
