Known as the “Fragonard of the shoe”, Roger Vivier opened his first boutique on rue Royale in Paris in 1937. Heels were his field of excellence – he was the father to the Aiguille stiletto, launched in 1954, and the sinuous Virgule heel, considered the manifesto of his namesake label since 1963. Today, the brand is reimagining one of their classics with the release of the Très Vivier collection as it makes a captivating entrance to Roger Vivier Bal Harbour with simple silhouettes and delicate dazzles that continue a long tradition of Vivier elegance and style.

The year was 1967, when a pair of original patent leather pumps with large square buckles achieved iconic status. The rebelliously elegant shoes worn by Catherine Deneuve with a trench raincoat in the award-winning Belle de Jour movie would forever carry the name of the film they first starred in. Since that on-screen appearance, the pumps have remained a source of endless inspiration for the Maison. In their latest iteration, Creative Director Gherardo Felloni was inspired by the original design to create a new line of shoes, bags and belts made for today’s Vivier woman.

With a distinctively retro look, the Très Vivier collection displays the same head-turning qualities as the designs that many style icons of the day like Jackie Kennedy to today’s brand ambassador Ines de la Fressange – fell in love with. Available in two heel heights, the new cube heel and the large square buckle in polished metal or sparkling crystal pay tribute to the aesthetics of the original pump. The Classic Loafer with a new square metal buckle is a playful, yet elegant companion created for everyday wear. The distinguishing square heel on a pair of Booties, reminiscent of geometric 1960s style is bold, chic and feminine.

“Drawing from the elegance and symbolism of Japanese aesthetics, this floral couture gown expresses spring as a season of renewal, precision, and living beauty. A dramatic, obi-inspired pink waistband represents harmony and strength.” —Lorrie Sanon, Indigo Hues Designs, presented by Makoto.

Designed in a palette of crisp whites and soft blues, the gown is composed of layered spring blooms that create movement, lightness and texture, evoking blossoms unfolding in a European cafe garden.” —Nadja Rain Soimaud, Flowers by Rain, presented by Avenue 31 Cafe.
