Step into a bygone era with Zimmermann’s Resort 2024 collection, which revisits the romantic thrill of 1950s dance halls with sartorial optimism. Entitled “Matchmaker,” the idyllic collection features ethereal, stand-out pieces with a high-drama drift.

Exaggerated feminine silhouettes like cinched corset waists, tender circle skirts, and sweetheart necklines intentionally mingle with more androgynous details, like rolled sleeves, contrast lapels, and padded shoulders. Meanwhile, the unabashed glamor of cascading ruffles, semi-sheer silk organza, and sculptural, three-dimensional floral appliqués add rich, ardent texture to the collection.

The effect is intoxicating: Not only does each piece capture the exuberance of the decade, but its modern-day sensibilities make it all the more wearable. Ahead, our favorite looks from the collection, now available at Bal Harbour Shops.

  1. Zimmermann frill-knit scoop neck bikini set with floral bikini bottom
A knit bikini top that plays well with others—like high-waisted linen shorts, a floral appliqué hoop skirt, or its matching floral bikini bottom—is a perennially chic must-have. Zimmermann’s Alight-Frill knit scoop bikini fits the bill and then some.
  2. Zimmermann polka dot midi v-neck dress with sleeves
Straight from the historic cache, this polka dotted V-neck midi dress with a fitted bodice might be inspired by the jitterbug days. But it’s just as chic off the dance floor, too.
  3. Zimmermann Junie textured knit shorts in cream with rust accents
Crochet drawstring shorts in a playful, vintage-inspired scallop pattern scream summertime ease. Pair the Junie textured knit shorts with a one-piece bathing suit and a raffia tote when you plan to relax poolside.
  4. Zimmermann off the shoulder white one-piece bathing suit
The sweetheart neckline and hidden functional underwire on the Lexi off-shoulder halter one-piece make it feel like a ‘50s-era artifact. (The keyhole detail and lustrous fabric make it feel unmistakably present-day.)
  5. Zimmermann white flat mule with black trim and buckle strap
Zimmermann’s pointed-toe Aura mules with an adjustable gold buckle strap should be a mainstay in any modern closet. Pair them with sheer ankle socks and an A-line skirt for a more throwback feel.
  6. Zimmermann white eyelet pattern traditional A-line fit dress
One of the dreamier pieces in the collection, this white anglaise midi dress calls on five varying eyelet patterns and a traditional A-line fit for sock hops and beach jaunts alike.
  7. Zimmermann off-white Matchmaker blouson shirt with puff sleeves with 3D floral accent on collar
Designer Nicky Zimmermann’s signature romantic femininity comes alive in this puff-sleeve Blouson shirt. The pale, lemony yellow and floral bolero detail make it a can’t-miss for the season ahead.
  8. Zimmermann Matchmaker structured linen and silk mini dress with plunging neckline, puff sleeves, and bow detailing
The perfect warm-weather pick: An updated take on the classic A-line mini dress, Zimmermann’s Matchmaker structured linen-silk mini dress is crafted from a luxe silk-linen blend in bandana print and features a plunging neckline, puff-sleeve shoulders, and bow detailing.
  9. Zimmermann structured Matchmaker denim boiler jumpsuit with shortsleeves and sinched waist
An homage to the more relaxed outfits of the latter part of the decade, Zimmermann’s Matchmaker denim Boiler jumpsuit celebrates the maneuverability and ease required to lead in the ballroom.
  10. Zimmermann Matchmaker cotton white eyelet pattern cargo trousers
Cut from broderie anglaise cotton, these wide-leg cargo pants are one-half of a no-brainer look. (The other half can be its matching eyelet top—or something more unexpected, like a red ruffled swimsuit.)
  11. Zimmermann red ruffle one-piece bathing suit with cascading asymmetric ruffles
Sure, it’s technically made for the water, but this one-piece with cascading asymmetric ruffles moonlights as a bodysuit on the weekends, too.
  12. Zimmermann Matchmaker wool silk tuxedo mini dress in black
This tailored tuxedo dress is proof that we’ve come a long way in women’s formalwear: This double-breasted silk-blend blazer is meant to be worn well after the sun sets.
  13. Zimmermann Matchmaker pink tuxedo suit jacket with black trim
A more conspicuous manifestation of the decade, this ‘50s-inspired pink tuxedo jacket boasts contrasting black grosgrain along the peak lapels—and it looks just as chic paired with matching trousers as it does a mini skirt.
  14. Zimmermann cream tank top with ruffle trim
Give your simple ribbed tank a lavish upgrade with Zimmermann’s take: The voluminous ruffle along the neckline and racerback straps make this the perfect day-to-night top.
  15. Zimmermann August denim mini skirt
Let your look span decades with this modern take on a ‘50s-era hoop skirt. The A-line silhouette and button-front detailing give it a nostalgic feel, while the rigid cotton and light-wash finish make it feel modern.
