Ms. Michael Bastian

Eugenia Gonzalez Ruiz-Olloqui.

She’s the public relations director for preppy-chic menswear line Michael Bastian on paper, but Eugenia Gonzalez Ruiz-Olloqui’s role in the company doesn’t end there. She’s also a muse, frequent collaborator and best friend to the CFDA award-winning designer. The two met while working at Bergdorf Goodman (she was in PR, he was in menswear), and when Bastian looked to start his company, Ruiz-Olloqui was the first person he turned to.

And though the Mexican born-and-bred fashionista incorporates some of Bastian’s pieces into her everyday wear (particularly the Michael Bastian for Gant women’s line that she collaborated on), her refined sense of style veers more along the lines of the feminine, with a twist that is distinctly her own. Her style has won her many best-dressed-list nods—you can catch her on any given day in Valentino or Dolce & Gabbana, boyfriend jeans with a Bastian- designed scarf or a vintage dress picked up along her travels.

This fall, step into a real-life Sicilian fairytale with this enchanting and cozy hooded statement maker. “I love the opulence of this Dolce & Gabbana brocade cape.”

Boyfriend jeans, step aside. There’s a new fall denim favorite in town. “I love wearing a men’s staple. This Michael Bastian denim jacket does the trick.” This classic unisex staple is back and better than ever. Available at Scoop NYC, Bal Harbour.

The Hotel Escondido, a secluded hideaway in Mexico is the ultimate way to disconnect and recharge. “I’m in love with the surfing in Puerto Escondido. I just stayed at the Hotel Escondido, which is on a gorgeous, remote beach.”

Sprinkle a little sartorial spice to your wardrobe with Valentino’s vibrant Resort 2015 collection. “These looks were inspired by Frida Kahlo. Being Mexican, I want every piece!” Both whimsical and exotic, this adorned Victorian-style mini will land you on the best-dressed list.

What do you look for in a daytime shoe? “These Jimmy Choo flats are perfect for every day, but still dressy enough for night.” It’s hard to find practicality and style in one accessory, but this pair hits the mark.

Cleverly playing with elegance and femininity, the Tasaki Collection has won us over with its youthful energy and wit. “Tasaki Collection by Thakoon is the coolest collaboration ever!” Available at The Webster, Bal Harbour.
