Gia Coppola

Style Icon

With a last name like Coppola, there’s a good chance you’re a wildly creative beauty with a killer sense of style. Gia, the youngest member of the tribe to become a bona-fide style icon, does not disappoint. Like her aunt Sofia and grandfather Francis, the
24-year-old model, photographer and director is finding her niche in the family business, having already directed films for Zac Posen and Opening Ceremony. In addition to capturing fashion and beauties behind the camera, Coppola has been a favorite model and muse for years for companies such as APC and LA-based Whetherly, a new label from Citizens of Humanity alumna Leila Nasseri. As for her own style, the California native usually eschews trends for the anonymity of basics, but admits she adored the Proenza Schouler and Rodarte shows, has a weakness for all things Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Lanvin, and would love to raid the closets of friends and fellow fashionphiles Tracy Antonopoulos and Nathalie Love.

When it comes to indulgences, Coppola asserts “Beautiful shoes are always a worthy splurge.” And these gorgeous black and white Charlotte Olympia heels are no exception.

Although you wouldn’t be able to tell, Coppola admits her impeccable taste in jewelry is newly acquired. “I used to be such a tomboy, but as I get older I’m developing an interest in jewelry.” Her keen eye for beautiful and effortless pieces is undeniable with picks like Tiffany & Co.’s diamond chrysoprase earrings (above) and Sugar Stack rings (below).

Despite her partiality for basics, Coppola cannot help but admire the bright looks of Spring, especially those of Proenza Schouler (left) and Marc Jacobs (right). “I don’t really follow trends, but I’m excited for all the color and different patterns for Spring.”

As a model and muse, Coppola depends on beauty basics to keep her camera ready. She looks to Chanel Inimitable Intense mascara for an instant pick me up. She notes, “Wearing mascara always makes me feel more dressed up.”
