A New Take on Turquoise

Van Cleef & Arpels' “Bouton d’or” necklace.

This season is all about the new take on turquoise. The distinctive stone has a fresh new look as designers incorporate it into modern settings and pair it with gold, sapphires, rubies and diamonds. From Tiffany & Co.’s brilliant color combinations to Chopard’s explosion of blues, turquoise is making quite the appearance this season.

Van Cleef & Arpels’ Bouton d'or collection is inspired by the curved lines of the paillette motif, a jewelry design created by the house in the late 1930s. Reinterpreted today, the Bouton d’or necklace featuring turquoise, lapis lazuli and diamonds set in 18K yellow gold is a bold take on a high jewelry classic.

Reimagine your concept of color with Chopard. These one-of-a-kind Song of the Blue Bird earrings were unveiled during the 71st Cannes Film Festival last month. Inspired by everything from the natural world to the Far East, this collection pays homage to Chopard co-president and creative director Caroline Scheufele’s extensive travels, resulting in an absolute dazzling display of color and gem-studded designs.

Legendary jewelry designer Jean Schlumberger transformed the vibrant colors of nature to create the most unique pieces for Tiffany & Co. The house reinterprets one of his designs with this turquoise and diamond 18 karat ring with an oval-shaped rubellite.

Harry Winston celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Ocean Collection with the Biretrograde Automatic 36mm timepiece for women. Color makes a big statement in the form of neon-blue Paraiba tourmalines, magical opals, sparkling blue aventurine and hand-painted gradated mother-of-pear dials.

Designed to hypnotize by all who gaze, Bulgari dares to dazzle with their High Jewelry Serpenti earrings. Set with four pear-shaped emeralds, six fancy cut turquoises and pavé diamonds, these pink-gold earrings are a powerful addition to your take on turquoise!
