Just Add Earrings

Fashion News
Designs in the light, airy Palmyre collection feature a stream of diamonds that emulate sparkling drops of water.

Go big or go home. That’s the message we got as shoulder-sweeping trophy earrings paraded down Resort and Spring runways. The nice thing about letting lobes rule is no other jewelry is required. We rounded up the season’s most spectacular pairs, just in time for the holiday party circuit.

Make a red carpet-worthy entrance with the Palmyre earrings from Van Cleef & Arpels. Four rows of 58 round diamonds, totaling 12.33 carats, are set in 18-karat white gold on these stunning earclips.

Chopard’s brilliant limited-edition Copacabana earrings are inspired by the blue night sky over the famous Brazilian beach. A spectacular ombré effect is achieved with 8 diamond beads, 106 round diamonds and 158 blue sapphires set in 18-karat white gold.

Never want to take these off. Not only are David Yurman’s Stax Chain Link Earrings exquisitely crafted in 18-karat yellow gold with sparkling pavé diamonds, they’re also convertible. Attach the bottom and top links to create a single drop earring you can wear everyday.

At Gucci, no accessory is ever overlooked. Plucked from the Resort runway, these lavish earrings are embroidered with crystal and resin beads and finished with beaded tassels. Alessandro Michele paired them with a ruffle coat in acid green and towering platform sneakers, but even a simple slip dress would be a suitable canvas for this duo.

Fringed chevron chandelier earrings dangled from the lobes of models in Ralph Lauren’s Western-meets-Art-Deco show and were worn with everything from evening dresses to more casual daywear. Created by a NYC artist, the Southwestern-inspired jewelry is hand-stamped for a textural rusticity.

For ornate styles with a bohemian-luxe vibe, turn to Tory Burch. The stone cascade earrings dazzle with a cluster of Swarovski crystals linked to a long fringed drop. They’re a slam dunk for nights out, but could also be fun at the office.

Oscar de la Renta’s got the boho-chic thing going as well with these tassel earrings. Lightweight, silk strands fall from a beaded loop design, demanding an elegant updo for maximum exposure.
