Gianvito Rossi, Heel the Love

Fashion News
“I’ve always loved Bal Harbour Shops and it’s very exciting to have my own store in this unique location,” says Rossi.

Walk this way. Gianvito Rossi has brought his stunningly elegant footwear to Bal Harbour Shops, opening a gleaming brass-framed boutique on the first floor. “I love Bal Harbour because it is a unique combination of fashion and luxury with incredible international clients,” says Rossi. The Italian shoe designer is known for sophisticated, feminine designs that elongate legs and optimize comfort. No wonder Diane Kruger, Emma Watson and Gwyneth Paltrow are fans.

Designed by Milan-based architect Patricia Urquiola, the shop reflects Miami’s luminous summer mood with expansive, open windows, a warm blush palette and an oak floor laid in a graphic herringbone pattern. Custom-made velvet couches provide the ideal setting for trying on the brand’s quietly alluring creations. Should you need further invitation to enter the boutique, the exquisite shoe displays in the front windows speak for themselves.

It’s only the second U.S. store for Rossi, who worked alongside father Sergio Rossi until launching his eponymous line in 2006. “The Bal Harbour client embraces the key elements of my brand identity: elegant, modern and feminine,” says the designer, who even created an exclusive shoe for the boutique. The striking Palladium satin sandal in avocado green is embroidered with eye-catching sequins.

Stop by the boutique and you’ll discover gorgeous selections from the Resort line—think bold brights, light fringe trim and luxe fabrics like satin—with styles from Spring/Summer arriving in January. You’ll also find the five cult-favorite designs from the signature collection, which are updated each season with new colors, details and materials. That lineup includes the quintessential pointed-toe Gianvito pump, the Ellipsis pump with a distinctive high-back design, the Plexi pump featuring translucent PVC sides, the Portofino stiletto sandal and the sculptural Vamp peep-toe bootie. Every shoe of course adheres to the rigorous craftsmanship the brand is celebrated for—6o steps are followed to create and ensure perfection of a single classic pump.

Rossi promises special boutique events will be happening soon. You may even bump into him on your visit. “I always love to come to Miami,” he says. “It’s a fantastic place to stay!”
