The New Faces of the Front Row

Fashion News

By Jessica Michault

The month long fashion marathon is now in full swing. And alongside all those familiar front row regulars we have come to know and love a new crop of it-girls are sprouting up at the collections who are getting the concrete catwalk photographers hot and bothered. Here Bal Harbour Shop highlights five faces you’ll know by the end of the shows.

You know her #influencer sister Chiara Ferragni, who is the style blogger turned lifestyle guru behind “The Blond Salad.” But now it is time for Valentina to step into the spotlight. She counts over 1 million followers on Instagram and already has quite a few collaborations under her belt. Early adopters to the “Valentina brand” include the bathing suit company Bikini Milano Marittima and the lingerie label Tezenis. At just 23 years old, she might soon rival her big sister.

Referred to as a “21st Century It-girl” on the September cover of Town and Country magazine, Maria-Olympia of Greece is about to have her big break out. The only daughter of Pavlos and Marie-Chantal, the Crown Prince and Princess of Greece, is a blond haired, hazel-eyed beauty with a supermodel body—and it doesn’t hurt that she has been linked in the press to Prince Harry. Any designer outfit is going to look like a dream on her, and the brands are starting to take notice.

The French actress and singer, @sokothecat, who now calls Los Angeles her home, has two films coming out this fall, both of which premiered at Cannes. Her eccentric style and forthright approach to her Instagram account has already piqued the interest of brands like Gucci, Miu Miu and Chanel. She even took over Gucci’s Snapchat for a day at the brand’s London show in June. For the moment she might be most famous for her brief relationship with actress Kristen Stewart, but she is a true original whose star is on the rise.

Carlotta Oddi has the enviable position of being the assistant to Anna Dello Russo of Vogue Japan (who is also the high priestess of the concrete catwalk). And as such Oddi, a long and lean Italian woman with iron flat honey brown hair, has access to outfits from some of the biggest and most avant garde designers working in fashion today. Her own personal style tends to be more romantic with a rocker spirit and she favors Italian brands like Valentino and Prada. But with Oddi, just like Dello Russo, her signature is all about her original approach to mixing fashion in true iconoclast style.

Hari Nef is the first trans-actress and model to sign with IMG worldwide. She has walked in the catwalks shows for cutting edge brands like Hood by Air, Vejas and VFiles and writes for both Dazed and Vice magazines. In September, she graced the cover of British Elle, the first trans-gender woman to ever be on the cover of a traditional British magazine. Nef is the It-girl for brands looking to see their clothing on a cool rebel and who is pushing back boundaries.
