If ever there was a high jewelry line that will make you green with envy, it is the new “Majestic Emeralds” collection from Van Cleef & Arpels. As the name suggests, this collection pays homage to these green gemstones that have always held within their deep hues a unique sort of magic and mysticism.

Van Cleef & Arpels pulled out all the stops with this collection. Letting the rare stones, sourced from Columbia and Zambia, dictate the style of each piece of one-of-a-kind jewelry. Thus, there isn’t one overarching style or theme to the collection; it’s more of a showcase for just how stunning emeralds can be when they take center stage.

Case in point is the “Twist Emeraude” bracelet. The coiling bracelet harkens back to designs discovered in the house’s archives from the 1920’s and features a swirling gradation of stones that see violet sapphires and diamonds circling up the outside of the bracelet. The piece is finished off in an impressive manner with two jawbreaker size cabochon emeralds. The emeralds measure roughly 20 carats each and Van Cleef & Arpels’ creative director Nicolas Bos turned them into star crossed lovers, passing each other on the wrist as they encircle the wearer.

But the “Twist Emeraude” bracelet is just one of the breathtaking emerald designs on display in this collection. Another standout is the Claudine necklace. It has nine emerald-cut emeralds that together make a grand total of more than 42 carats. Seven emeralds are spread out to frame the neckline while another two larger emeralds drop down at the front and back of the necklace. It is a serious statement piece, so much so that VCA gave it some versatility: the two large emeralds are detachable and can be worn on their own for a more understated look.

For those on the hunt for the unexpected, feast your eyes on the Bouquet D’Emeraudes brooch. It might be diminutive in nature, but the clip is a compilation of 11 hand-sculpted whimsical blooming flowers. Each one of them surrounded by pave-set leaves and a smattering of tiny chrysopase cabochon stones that act as a color counterpoint to the emeralds. The subtle contrast between the deep green Zambian emeralds and the milky opaque nature of the chrysopase beautifully underlines the unparalleled talents of Van Cleef’s craftsmen.
