Go for the Rose Gold

Fashion News
The Imperiale Chopard rose gold say sautoir is hard to miss with its impressive central amethyst stone.

It’s that time of the year again; when sun kissed skin is in need of some equally warm jewelry to set it off in style. It doesn’t matter if a house describes their pieces as rose, pink or red, the precious metal that is having a serious moment right now is rose gold.

This alloy has an allure unlike any other jewelry today. It has the ability to flatter all skin types, its color is arguably more inviting then its yellow or white gold counterparts and yet it also works incredibly well when mixed with those metals. And the “blushing” undertone of the hue instantly gives it a romantic essence.

Here, we’ve gathered a few fantastic rose gold accessories that you won’t want to miss this summer.

Both Chopard and Pomellato created some spectacular necklaces that incorporate colored stones into their designs. In Chopard’s Imperiale collection the Swiss jewelry house created a sautoir necklace that has at its heart a deep purple cushion-cut amethyst that is framed by an undulating openwork lattice design in rose gold, which is finished off with a smattering of white diamond. The necklace comes with an impressive matching ring and earrings that echo the lattice design.

As for Pomellato, the delicate rose gold twisted chain link construction of its Arabesque necklace is counterbalanced by five remarkable transparent gemstones. The mélange of hues that can be perceived in the smoky quartz, amethyst, prasiolite and rock crystal stones also gives the piece a sartorial versatility. This ability to blend well with almost any outfit is sure to keep the necklace in heavy rotation.

The combination of white diamonds and rose gold has been a particular favorite with jewelry houses for the past couple of years. It’s the yin and yang of the strikingly bright diamonds against the warm and inviting rose gold that makes this pairing so particularly appealing.

Both David Yurman and Bulgari came up with statement rings that use the diamond and rose gold combo to great effect. In the case of Yurman, his signature twisted cable style is further accentuated thanks to a pavé diamond starburst design that flares out from the ring’s center. And Bulgari’s B.Zero classically designed grooved band ring has pavé diamonds circling its extremities for a timelessly chic finish.

And then there is the undulating charm of Tiffany’s cobblestone diamond hoop earrings. By using rose-cut or round brilliant cut diamonds in a variety of sizes Tiffany gives the earrings a sort of ripple effect that elegantly mimic the old world beauty of a cobblestone street.

Another great place to put some rose gold on display is across the wrist with a statement-making cuff like the Allegra bracelet from de Grisogono. A piece that gets its power from its multi-strand diamond design that sees each line of rose gold set with diamonds curving over the wrist, or a timepiece—rose gold is also currently very big in the luxury watch market. Harry Winston has a number of rose gold timepieces in its collections. One particular standout is the Avenue C Art Deco watch. The bracelet of the watch brings to mind a cobblestone street pattern and it could make for a great pairing with those aforementioned Tiffany earrings.
