Jewelry collectors wait with baited breath each year for the unveiling of the annual Tiffany & Co Blue Book Collection. Once again design director Francesca Amfitheatrof does not disappoint with her “The Art of Transformation” collection, which celebrates the beauty of nature through precious gemstones born from its depths.

In this all star line up of jewels, there are still a few pieces that represent the collection’s cornerstone designs. One of the most spellbinding is a 52.80 carat aquamarine diamond with a richness of color that brings to mind the shifting shades of the open seas. The jewel sits at the center of a triple-row necklace that features tanzanites, green tourmalines and aquamarines sculpted into marquise-shapes and joined together via platinum links and shimmering pavé diamonds.

Another benchmark design is an all-encompassing bib collar necklace that has been painstakingly crafted out of 1,500 cabochon and faceted gemstones including blue and green tourmalines, tanzanite, purple iolites, blue apatite and blue sapphires, all of them delicately mounded on a platinum base. The design of this incredible piece was inspired in part by the jewelry that Louis Comfort Tiffany, the son of the founder, dreamed up for the house during his lifetime.

“In this collection, we are taking you on a journey through nature,” explained Amfitheatrof. “It’s a story about evolution and all that is possible in silence and peace, where nature plays its magic and creates the mysteries of the world we live in.”

Amfitheatrof explored the cool beauty of the sea with her designs but she also took on the warmth of the sun with a selection of yellow diamond pieces designed to glow against the skin. Not to be missed is a round pendant necklace that has at its heart an emerald-cut 22.11 carat yellow sapphire. Swirling out from this center sapphire are round diamonds in assorted sizes that act like solar flares blazing white hot and beautiful. The pendant comes with matching earrings to complete the searing and sophisticated pairing.

Besides the overarching nature theme of the collection, Amfitheatrof also made a point of marking the 130th anniversary of the now iconic “Tiffany Setting” by including one impressive statement ring into the Blue Book line up. The setting of the diamond has been done in such a way that its sits delightfully above the band, to better capture the light. The D color, 8.55 carat flawless diamond is set on a platinum ring, which itself is covered with a dusting of sparkling pavé diamonds. The final result is a timeless creation that will be cherished and passed down for generations.
