InstaInfluencer: The Bag Hag

Fashion News

By Jessica Michault

Ingrid Chua is the female force behind The Bag Hag Diaries. She has her own television series dedicated to the market and travels the world to suss out the latest trends, designers and styles making waves in the accessories world for her Bag Hag blog. Her love and in depth coverage of the handbag industry has now made her an expert in her luxury field of choice. Here, she shares where she turns for a little InstaInspo.

Caroline Issa, fashion director of the biannual fashion magazine, "Tank," and editor of the online magazine "Because" keeps a pretty busy schedule. "I love looking through @caroissa’s Instagram photos for inspiration. She is an excellent curator," says Chua. She is one of the most sought after "gets" of street style fashion photographers who love to capture her always stylish yet unique ensembles during fashion weeks. Vanity Fair has taken notice, and included her on their coveted "Best Dressed" list.

It makes sense that Chua would be following Instagram feeds focused on designer handbags. @christieshandbags is top on her list as Chua is "always on the lookout for special bags," she says, and turns to this feed to help her keep track of what is trending. A quick scroll of the feed shows that Christies has a particular love for Chanel and Hermes bags in limited edition or rare skin styles.

“I'm always in search of places to go, to see, and to explore. @beautifuldestinations gives me so many ideas," says Chua. Filled with exceptional images of exotic locations around the world, the site pulls the photos into its feed from all over Instagram. Have something worthy of sharing? hashtag #beautifuldestinations and you may find yourself featured on this highly populated (5.8 million and counting) feed.

The playful and prolific @zachking has turned video editing into an art form on Instagram. "His short videos are incredible! Without a doubt one of the best video editors out there today," says Chua. His feed is so popular that Disney was even inspired by one of his 15 second clips for a scene in their new film "Zootopia."

French muse Ines de la Fressange is one of the chicest women alive. Not only is she the ambassador for the Roger Vivier brand, she is a model who has inspired the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier. Her best selling book “Parisian Chic” explained how to capture that "je ne sais quoi" of French style that women all over the world covet. And now she has opened a shop in Paris filled with an assortment of eclectic and delightful pieces from brands she has discovered over the years. From bath towels to clothes, the selection is thoughtful and personal. Just scroll through her feed, @inesdelafressangeofficial for a sample of what’s in store.
