Vilebrequin’s Next Move

Fashion News
A detail of Vilebrequin's Bubble Turtles print.

It’s true that with more then 40 years of success the Vilebrequin brand has become synonymous with stylish swimwear. But now the sun kissed company is spreading its delightful carefree spirit to shoes. This season its will introduce a full line of flip flops, espadrilles and boat shoes, all designed to work in harmony with the charming spring/summer 2016 “Bubble Turtles” print the brand created for its main collection.

This means that the whimsical illustration pops up on the sole of flip-flops, peaks out around the heels of espadrilles and tone on tone little turtles can be seen swimming across the length of navy boat shoes.

The brand, which was started in St. Tropez by Fred Prysquel and inspired by life lived to the fullest by the sea and under the sun, is famous for its quick drying swimwear. This is why it has become the go to brand for celebrities, royalty and any sun-loving individual looking for style and creativity in equal measure.

The move into footwear comes on the heels of the brand’s extension into clothing designed for when the weather turns cold.  Vilebrequin's well-received winter ready-to-wear pieces, which includes down filled parkas, reversible jackets and pea coats, as well as the new shoe lines point to a company in full expansion.

It is now possible to wear Vilebrequin head to toe—in the water, on the beach and out to dinner, even when that dinner might be an après ski fondue.
