The price of gold continues to soar, breaking its own records by the day. And while some choose alternate materials in light of these increases, others are even more enticed by the new gold standard.

David Yurman, the designer who came to notoriety by its (now-instantly recognizable) cable jewelry, is putting a big stake in gold this Fall with a sizeable new collection devoted to the precious metal.

In a recent interview the designer stated that, “the best thing is that this was organically grown, it was not by intent. Basically, this is one big art project that we’ve been evolving and expanding for the past 32 years.”

And what a beautiful art project it is!

Traditional shades, like yellow, white and rose gold make up the majority of the new collections, but some non-traditional choices, like the Black and Gold group, and the pairing of titanium and rose gold in the men’s collection provide some fresh choices this Fall.
