Style icon Grace Kelly is the epitome of summer-chic is a classic pair of espadrilles.

This summer espadrilles are back in a big way. Channel Grace Kelly’s effortless elegance with a classic espadrille, or try one of the fresh spins on a familiar silhouette with one of the looks below. Dolled up with metallics, leather, ikat and other fresh takes, there’s an essential sandal for everyone this season. Here we’ve rounded up a sampling of some of our favorite looks. And there’s plenty more where that came from!

Calypso St. Barth
The epitome of beach chic, Calypso St. Barth, founded in 1992 in St. Barth, has stayed true to its roots of bohemian style. And it looks like the rest of us have caught wind of the breezy fashion this summer: billowing peasant skirts, maxi dresses and bright caftans are all the rage from city sidewalks to beach boardwalks. So who better to bring us the perfect sling-back espadrille than the importer of all things resort? We love the metallic gold Bel Peep Toe from Castaner for its glam-on-the-beach quality.

Yves Saint Laurent
Fans of the Tribute sandal and pump will be able to give their feet a rest this summer, but still hold onto the height and status afforded by those aforementioned heels. YSL takes its signature look to the beach with two espadrilles: the basket-woven and the patent and suede. We love the bright red basketweave sandal to add a pop of color to a whitewashed summer, and the patent leather and metallic espadrille easily dresses up any beach look.

Ralph Lauren
It’s no surprise here that a Ralph Lauren espadrille is a fairly classic take on the seasonal sandal. Head up to their new flagship store where you can find the perfect wedge. While there are a few styles available, we’re partial to the cross-over leather ankle strap in warm caramel leather. For a slightly more refined sandal, the Finna Vachetta wedge from the Ralph Lauren Collection offers the look of an espadrille, but is woven from leather rather than jute.

What’s a summer without a few zigzagging stripes from Missoni? Channel the Italian Riviera with a beautiful flat espadrille that just screams Margherita. The leather t-strap is finished off with a signature Missoni-print bow. Just enough pattern to be playful—without hypnotizing. Available at Intermix Bal Harbour.

Theodora & Callum
And speaking of playful … these sky-high platforms have taken the espadrille silhouette for a spin. From the top up, all of the classic elements are in place, including the lace-up ribbons that many modern espadrilles have foregone. But from the sole down, it’s a different story—and one that we’re loving! You can’t go wrong with ikat; it’s the perfect pattern to clash with yet always result in something fabulous. Available at Intermix Bal Harbour.
