Chanel and Colette Team Up in Paris

Fashion News
An illustration by Lagerfeld inspired by the collaboration; notice the Colette shopping bag!

If you happen to find yourself in Paris for Fashion Week, be sure to stop in at Chanel’s latest showstopper, its pop-up shop collaboration with Colette. Launched on March 1, the shop will be open for 10 priceless days in a celebration of all things chic and Chanel.

The former garage space on the rue Saint-Honoré (about halfway between Chanel’s HQ on Rue Cambon and Colette) has been transformed into a retail haven for both of the French labels’ cult followers. Exclusive merchandise includes pieces from Lemarié, Eres and of course Chanel and Colette, including a collector’s edition doll designed by Karl Lagerfeld himself.

Chanel 2011 Spring-Summer pieces will be sold alongside a curated selection of pieces by young designers, handpicked by Colette. Artists including Kevin Lyons, Soledad, André, Fafi and SO-ME will be on hand to customize Mademoiselle bags. Other exclusive Chanel-inspired products will be sold including a charm by jeweler Yazbukey who reproduced the gap-toothed smile of model (and face of Chanel) Vanessa Paradis, Ruby helmets, Leica cameras and a compilation CD mixed just for the occasion. How could this possibly get any better? How about a Chanel manicure bar (along the lines of the one we saw during Fashion’s Night Out) and a cupcake bar by Chez Bogato.

Musical performances, DJ sets from the likes of Elisa Sednaoui and the Misshapes, live bag customizing and demonstrations will round out the pop-up shop’s offerings.

Through March 10, 336-340, rue Saint-Honoré, Paris
