Destination Books & Books

Culture Watch
Behind the scenes at Alexander McQueen's Autumn/Winter 2009 show, from the book, "Alexander McQueen: Working Process".

Books & Books has a new home at Bal Harbour Shops. The literary institution has moved to the third floor in a temporary location while its future permanent space is under construction at the Shops. In the meantime, you can continue to enjoy the mix of events, titles and special editions that makes Books & Books a South Florida institution.

Though many find their way to Books & Books for simple reading pleasure, among the many titles stocked there are some that complement the Bal Harbour shopping experience.

For instance, perhaps after purchasing an Alexander McQueen knuckle box clutch at the Bal Harbour location, head to Books & Books to pick up one of the 100 limited edition Alexander McQueen: Working Process, a beautifully illustrated book that takes us behind the scenes at the fashion house.

Another limited release title available now is Richard Corman: Madonna NYC 83, in an edition of 50. This exclusive photographic book is devoted to the photoshoot Corman created with Madonna in 1983, a few months before the release of her first studio album. It presents a mix of never before published images and some that are surely recognizable, resulting in an energetic and nostalgic ode to the Material Girl.

Every month Books & Books welcomes dozens of authors and personalities for in-store events. On February 27th, Shamar Rinpoche teaches powerful mind training in The Path to Awakening: How Buddhism's Seven Points of Mind Training Can Lead You to a Life of Enlightenment and Happiness. For a full author event calendar, tickets and more information call Books & Books Bal Harbour at 305.864.4241, or stop in at Bal Harbour and see what’s in store.
