Visionaire—the art and fashion multi-media triannual—continues to capture the zeitgeist with its unique formula of collaboration. Its contributors are arbiters of cool; Karl Lagerfeld, Marrio Sorrenti, Richard Phillips, Sofia Coppola, Nick Knight, Gus Van Sant, Marc Jacobs, Ryan McGinley and John Baldessari are just a few of the many artists, photographers, designers and visionaries behind the limited edition publications.

For issue number 60, Visionaire tapped Italian designer and Givenchy artistic director Riccardo Tisci to edit its latest book, RELIGION. The resulting leather-wrapped 228-page hard- bound book, inspired by a church altar piece, uses religion as a synonym for obsession, ritual, worship, apparition and the celebration of humanity.

“Visionaire Sixty Religion was a truly important moment of reflection for me,” said Tisci. “Made, in my mind, by some of the most important creative forces of our moment and some of the people I love the most, this collection of work celebrates religion, inner truths, inner dialogues, moments which words cannot quantify.”

For the issue, artist Marina Abramovic collaborates with Riccardo Tisci to depict her view of art’s relationship with fashion; Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott photograph Lara Stone; Paolo Canevari envisions Franca Sozzani as a saint; Karl Lagerfeld photographs Carine Roitfeld; Berlinde de Bruyckere collaborates with Mario Testino on a series of nudes; Jefferson Hack curates Polaroids by Patti Smith; Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin re-envision “Lucy Fer”; Nick Knight and Katy England render a winged Kate Moss crucifix; Givaudan perfumer Yann Vasnier creates the smell of RELIGION; and much more.

RELIGION is released in a limited edition of 3,000 copies and is available at Books & Books, Bal Harbour.
