Paris Chic

Culture Watch

If there’s any woman who exudes je ne sais quoi, it’s Inès de la Fressange. So it’s no wonder then that at 54 years old, she’s still being flooded with requests from fashion and beauty houses who wish to capture a piece of her elusive appeal.

Already the brand ambassador for Roger Vivier and once famously a muse for Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, de la Fressange now adds L’Oréal Paris to her roster of global brand affiliations. In a recent interview, de la Fressange shared her thoughts on the brand and why she felt a kinship for it. “Beauty is a real source of freedom. I believe in the slogan ‘because we're worth it!' I love those words, which are still perfectly relevant today.”

A new style guide from de la Fressange, “Parisian Chic,” is also being released this month. In it she shares the well-kept secrets of how Parisian women maintain effortless glamour and a timeless allure. Undoubtedly France’s icon of chic, de la Fressange shares her personal tips for living with style and charm, gleaned from decades in the fashion industry. She offers specific pointers on how to dress like a Parisian, including how to mix affordable basics with high-fashion touches, and how to accessorize. Inès also shares how to bring Parisian chic into your home, and how to insert your signature style into any space—even the office.

Here we catch up with de la Fressange who shares her must-haves for Spring...
