So the saying goes, but this time we don’t mind it. Suiting, tuxedo jackets, houndstooth et al, men’s fashion had a big influence this season. Ralph Lauren’s wide leg pinstripe suits alluded to Dick Tracy style gangsters and Stella McCartney’s oversize jackets were just Eighties enough without entering kitsch. Others, like Salvatore Ferragamo and Emilio Pucci put a distinctively feminine spin on this otherwise manly fashion.
